Terms of Use
Your consent authorizes Edfinancial Services to contact you using its Short Message Service (SMS) system, which may include an automated telephone dialing system, for the purposes of sending you text alerts that you specifically requested. SMS is a text messaging feature offered on a phone, application, or mobile device that allows you to send messages from one device to another.
Communications via text messages will be sent to your mobile device, and may include account information, such as your payment due date. We may also provide you with account notifications, such as a notification of a change in loan status. The text alerts we provide are being delivered as a convenience to you for information purposes. The information on the text alerts is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Edfinancial Services cannot and does not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted or secure text alerts service. Edfinancial Services does not charge you to use our text messaging feature, but standard cellular message and data rates may apply; please contact your wireless carrier to ask about SMS charges on your specific plan.
By consenting to and successfully activating text alerts, you acknowledge and represent that you are the authorized user of the mobile phone number that you provided or have been granted permission by the authorized user of the mobile phone number to enroll such mobile phone number in the service; you grant Edfinancial Services express permission to send text messages to that mobile phone number through your wireless phone carrier unless and until such permission is revoked in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; and by granting such permission to Edfinancial Services you are hereby requesting to receive such messages in spite of the fact that your number may otherwise be on a federal or a state do-not-call list and you agree, to the maximum extent permitted by law, that such text messages shall not be considered unauthorized by any local, state, or federal law or regulation.

Stop Text Alerts
Consent to receive text alerts may be withdrawn at any time by texting STOP to 866-210-8298 from your mobile phone; by emailing us at customerservice@edfinancial.studentaid.gov; calling us toll-free at 855-337-6884 or 800-337-6884; or by writing to us at: Edfinancial Services, P.O. Box 36008, Knoxville, TN 37930-6008. You agree that your prior express consent to receive text alerts is effective unless and until you comply with any of the methods described in this section for withdrawing your prior express consent. Other methods or means attempted to revoke your prior express consent shall be ineffective and you hereby release Edfinancial Services from any liability related to your efforts to revoke your prior express consent by other methods or means.
If revoking your consent by texting STOP to 866-210-8298, your text message should contain only the word STOP without any additional words, spaces, or characters either before or after the word STOP. Edfinancial Services will reasonably endeavor to comply with other text communications sent to 866-210-8298 in which you indicate a clear and unmistakable intent to revoke your prior permission. However, you understand that these messages go to a number that is entirely automated, is not monitored by a human, and as a result, the ability of Edfinancial Services to interpret your intent is severely restricted. Therefore, you hereby release Edfinancial Services from any liability for your efforts to revoke your permission via a text message to 866-210-8298 that does not strictly comply with the terms stated in the first sentence of this paragraph.
Furthermore, by activating text alerts, you hereby grant Edfinancial Services express permission (without qualification) to respond to your cancellation request (regardless of the method you use to make the request) with a single text message that will confirm receipt of your cancellation request, as well as indicate that you will no longer receive text alerts from Edfinancial Services. Furthermore, you agree that Edfinancial Services will reasonably endeavor to send you the aforementioned cancellation confirmation text message in a timely manner. However, you hereby release Edfinancial Services from any liability related to a confirmatory text message or the timeliness in which you receive one.
